Millions of homeowners are planning to make upgrades to their residences over the next 12 months in a variety of ways. According to local ABC News affiliate KOTA, Angie's List surveyed more than 1,000 contractors across the country on what they think will be the most popular improvement trends in 2015. The results from the survey indicate that homeowners are looking to spend more this year, as the desired projects are becoming bigger in scope. So how will people be improving their households in the coming months?
Remodeling projects will be all the rage in 2015. The survey found that people desire bigger kitchens, expanded bathrooms and bedrooms. But it is not just these major changes that homeowners want, as storage space is also a growing concern. More storage space in the pantry and bigger closets is something we will see more of this year. For those who want to ensure they get a return on their investment, the best bet is to create a luxurious bathroom space that will attract more potential buyers and higher bids when it comes time to sell.
"If you're updating your home, remodeling your bathroom is one of your best returns on investment. You're going to get probably 80 percent of your money back," Angie's List founder Angie Hicks told the news source. "But keep in mind, remodeling a bathroom is not a cheap project. Where it used to be an average bathroom might have been around $15,000, now they're starting $20,000, as much as $50,000 for a master bathroom."
