Hey everybody and welcome back! This week, we'll be taking a look at the ways you can keep your home safe this winter if you won't be home over the holidays.
One of the first things you should do is turn off the main water valve in your home. This will stop the water from flowing through your pipes, so you do not come back to any burst or frozen pipes that will need to be repaired or replaced. Simply go to the central valve and shut it off.
Another solution is to have a neighbor or friend check in on your house every other day or so, because a set of eyes on the ground will go a long way to making sure everything is in order. If there is a problem, your friend will be able to have it fixed right away to minimize any possible damage.
